In ancient Egypt, the cat was worshipped as the goddess Bastet — protector of home and family. The dog was companion to pharaohs, trusted guardian of the afterlife journey. These animals were mummified with honour, depicted in gold on temple walls, and fed with the same care as royalty. We are the inheritors of that tradition.
NEFRO — from the ancient Egyptian "Neferu", meaning beautiful, good, and perfect — was founded on one conviction: that the animals who share our lives and homes deserve nutrition held to the highest standard. Not adequate nutrition. Not average nutrition. Perfect nutrition.
Our founding team combined decades of experience in veterinary nutrition science with a profound respect for the Egyptian cultural relationship with animals.
